MILD Technique Lucid Dreaming | Easiest Method to Lucid Dream

Though lucid dreaming is easy to learn but most people won't get success in it easily. MILD technique lucid dreaming is one of the most effective techniques to master lucid dreams easily and quickly.

What is the MILD technique of Lucid Dreaming?

Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams (MILD) is a technique in which you repeatedly suggest to yourself through affirmations that tonight I have to have lucid dreams at all costs.

If your desire is strong, then through this technique you can have conscious dreams whenever you want. This is a very effective method. The MILD technique was developed by
Dr. Stephen Laberg.

MILD Technique Lucid Dreaming

To successfully use the MILD technique, you must have certain types of abilities such as: -

Abilities Required For MILD Technique

  1. You must have a strong ability to desire.
  2. You must have faith in the prayers.
  3. You must know the Reality Check technique.
  4. You must have patience and you have enough time.
  5. You should not be addicted to overthinking before sleeping.

If you do not have any of the above abilities, then you can easily develop them. But remember that you must have these skills.

Before starting the method of the MILD technique, you have to set some goals or say that you have to train your memory for Reality Check. MILD and Reality Check are both techniques of lucid dreaming and when these two are used together then lucid dreaming can be learned easily.

Prospective Memory Training for MILD

You have to do this exercise for a whole week. When you wake up in the morning, you have to start doing reality checks at the same time. Before you start the practice of doing reality checks, you need to set some goals. You can set a different goal for each day.

How to set goals?

You have to set goals like this. For example, the next time I see my friend, I will look consciously at my surroundings and ask myself "Am I dreaming right now"?

You have to develop the habit of doing reality checks. The things that we do repeatedly while awake are settled in our minds and it is very likely that we are doing the same thing at night during dreams as well.

So all you have to do is to develop the habit of checking your state and this habit will enter your dream later.

Some targets are given below. You have to take these targets as a reference. Targets can be different for everyone. You can make your own targets.
When you see these targets you have to check your state immediately. And you have to ask yourself "Am I dreaming"? "Is it all a dream"?

Sunday
  • The next time I see a flower, I will ask myself, "Am I dreaming"?
  • Next time when I see my relative.
  • When I hear the sound of a dog bark.
  • Next time when I turn on Facebook.

Monday
  • Next time when I read a book.
  • Next time when I go to the bathroom.
  • Next time when I open youtube.
  • Next time I listen to a song.

Tuesday
  • Laughing
  • While washing dishes
  • After looking at the traffic light
  • While touching the money

Wednesday
  • Whenever I see an airplane in the sky.
  • When I see a clock.

We keep seeing the above-mentioned targets again and again in dreams. That's why when you pay attention to all these targets, then when you see these targets again in the dream, you will do a reality check at the same time and finally, you will know that you are in a dream.

How to have Lucid Dream Tonight: MILD Technique

Set up intention for dream recall

Before sleeping at night, make a resolution that whenever I wake up during sleep, I will be able to remember the dream well. Whenever I open my eyes from sleep, I will remember the dreams I saw in my sleep in a sequential manner.

If you cannot get up in the middle of your sleep, then you should resolve that when you wake up in the morning, then you will remember all the dreams you saw the whole night.

Recall Your Dreams

MILD Technique Lucid Dreaming

When you wake up in the middle of sleep, it doesn't matter what time of the night it is, you just have to remember the dream you saw.

Try to remember every single detail of the dream seen. If you are falling asleep very loudly while remembering the dream, then you should do something so that you become a little conscious.

Focus on your intention

When you go to sleep again, you have to repeat some affirmations over and over again.

These affirmations could be something like, "In a dream, I will know that I am dreaming". "During the dream, I will be if fully conscious". "I remember my dreams very well".

You have to enter sleep repeating the above affirmations in this way. You not only have to repeat it but also feel it with all your heart.

The mind is very restless and clever. If your mind wanders from the affirmations, bring it back immediately.

See yourself in a lucid dream

If you want, you can repeat the affirmations in your mind or you can imagine that you will go back to the same dream from which you have just woken up. And this time imagine that you have become aware of the dream.

Because you have become aware of the dream, then imagine the thing that you want to do in the lucid dream. You can fly in the sky. You can talk with a celebrity. Imagine whatever you have thought of doing in a lucid dream.

When you go to sleep with this kind of imagination, it is very likely that you will find the same scenario in your dream and you will become aware of that dream.

Repeat

You have to repeat steps 3 and 4 over and over until that intent is set. While sleeping, if you get stuck in some other thought or start overthinking about something else, then you have to avoid it.

Your last thought during sleep should be that I will know in my dreams that I am dreaming. Your final thoughts should be about the lucid dream itself.

Final Thoughts

If everything goes right then you will successfully make yourself aware of your dream. Just as you have set your targets while awake, you will soon lucid yourself in the dream through the same targets.

Do not panic if you do not feel sleepy or if it takes a long time to fall asleep while practicing this technique. The longer you stay awake, the more likely you are to become conscious in dreams. Because the longer you practice this technique, the more powerful this technique will become.

If your sleep is very deep, then when you wake up in the middle of the dream, then you have to stay awake for 10 to 15 minutes. You do not have to sleep immediately after getting up, otherwise, you will lose consciousness immediately.

You have to stay awake for at least 15 minutes. During this, you should do something so that your consciousness remains active. For example, you can wash your face with water and walk for some time in your own room.

After 10 to 15 minutes, you go to sleep again and you have to repeat the same process again.

Research shows that using this technique, people have been successful in awakening themselves in dreams within 2 to 3 days. Many advanced oneironauts use this technique to induce multiple lucid dreams in a single night.

I hope that after reading this article, you must have understood the MILD technique of lucid dreaming very well.
