In today's busy and restless world, meditation is very important. Just by doing 5 minute morning meditation, you can make your mind aware and alert. It is said that if you improve your morning, there is a high chance that your whole day will be pleasant.

5 Minute Morning Meditation

Morning time is considered the most favorable time for meditation. When we wake up in the morning, our mind is calmer than the rest of the time and it is easier to meditate at this time.


A healthy person should get up from sleep before sunrise in the morning. 


Waking up early in the morning to see the panoramic view of the sunrise is very enjoyable and irresistible.


Every successful person, after waking up in the morning, first makes his body fully awake by doing some exercise and then by meditating, calms his mind. With the energy gained from meditation, he remains agile throughout the day and is able to concentrate his mind on one task.


Well, there are many ways to meditate. In the book called Vigyan Bhairav ​​Tantra, there is a mention of 112 methods of meditation.


The two methods of doing 5 minutes of morning meditation

  1. Vipassana Meditation: Observing Your Breathes
  2. Mindfulness Meditation: Observing Your thoughts


You can go ahead with any one of the 2 methods above to meditate. Both methods are very effective for calming and alerting the mind.


Vipassana Meditation

Observing Your Breathes

1. First you sit in a comfortable and quiet place with both legs bent. You place your hands in front of the navel.

2. You can do this meditation in your room or if you have a garden in your house then you can do it there also.


3. Now close your eyes and keep the spine straight. Keep your back straight. If your back remains arched, you may fall asleep.


4. Try to focus your mind on the breath. Take care not to change the flow of the breath at all. Let the breath come in and out of the nostrils in a natural way.


5. When the breath comes in, know that the breath has come in, and when the breath goes out, know that the breath has gone out.


6. Let no breath be such that escapes your observation. You have to maintain your consciousness above each and every passing breath.


7. By concentrating on the breath, the thought process stops and the mind becomes concentrated in one place. When the thought process stops, energy gets stored and this energy keeps you fresh throughout the day.


In the beginning, do this meditation method for 5 minutes. Then as you get better at it, increase the duration to 10 minutes, then 20 minutes, and half an hour. 


The longer you meditate, the more your consciousness will increase.


Mindfulness Meditation

Observing your thoughts

This method is a bit more difficult than the previous method but if you learn this method then your whole life will change.


This method is so powerful that with its help you can even learn telepathy. But that is a different topic. We will see about this in another article.


Meditation Method:

1. Keep both your hands near the navel in a comfortable position and sit in a soft place.


2. Now shift your attention to the thoughts running through your mind. In this process, you have to watch the thoughts coming and going in your mind.

3. When a thought comes to mind, look at it, don't get carried away with it. Actually what happens is that when any thought arises in our mind, then we start thinking about that thought.


4. From now on you don't have to do this at all. When you come to know that a thought has entered your mind, immediately become aware and let go of that thought. Even if an idea is important, let it go. Because right now you are meditating. Don't forget it.


5. Our mind is our thought. It is the mind that gives birth to the thought process. The mind is able to create thought because we give energy to it. If you stop giving energy to the mind, then this mind will not be able to create thoughts. When a thought arises in your mind, then become aware and do not give energy to that thought.


6. Thoughts are very fragile. When it is seen, it stops coming. You and your mind are different. You are not mind. Mind is like software. That is why one can be free from unnecessary thoughts.


Look, it's not that thinking is bad. Thinking is very necessary to live in this world. But thinking has become a disease.


From the mind, the control of man has completely ended. Human beings keep on thinking of unnecessary things even without wanting to. There is not a single moment in the day when he is not thinking.


That is why meditation has become very important. If you really want to be successful in meditation, you have to make your entire routine a meditation.


If you are thinking of an important thought, then while thinking that thought, be aware that I am thinking. Don't lose awareness from thoughts. If you are lost in thought, you will forget yourself. 


And one thing more, keep yourself away from wild fantasies.


All Day Awareness (ADA)

When you are talking to someone, be aware that you are talking. When you move your hands while talking, move knowingly.

Generally, when you see any person talking, you will feel he is talking like a machine. You will feel that the person is talking unconsciously.


When you are walking on the road, walk consciously. When you are eating food, eat consciously. Your bathing, eating, talking, everything should be done consciously. Do not do any work unconsciously.


Whatever you are doing all day should become just an excuse for inner training to be mindful. Thus the place of action will become second and the awareness brought by the work will become the primary thing.


Final Thoughts

It is very important to meditate in the morning. You have to maintain the awareness gained from meditation throughout the day. 


Meditation is not just about sitting and doing it for 5 minutes. Meditation is a continuous stream that goes on all the time. When any work is done consciously, it is also called meditation. Conscious work is a state of meditation.


Meditation cannot be done in pieces. Imagine yourself, you meditate for 10 minutes and then completely forget about meditation. You remain unconscious all day. 


By meditating for 10 minutes, you become awake at that time, but except for 10 minutes, you continue to practice unconsciousness for the rest of the time. That's why most people are not successful in meditation. Because they meditate for 10-15 minutes and forget about meditation for the rest of the time.


Sitting and meditating for 5-10 minutes gives you energy and awareness. You have to maintain this awareness throughout the day. All the time you have to practice mindfulness. Never forget that meditation is a continuous flow. It cannot be done in pieces. Be aware, be happy, and be safe at all times.
